Evaluation. The last post in your blog should be an evaluation of yourself and the group.
- What role(s) did you take on for this assignment?
I took on many roles for this assignment. I got information about the question about the Future Developments question. I helped create and edit the Powerpoint and the hand-out. I found a couple of visual aids that were relevant to the Digestive System to put on the Powerpoint.
- What did you like about working as a group?
What I liked about working in a group, was that my group were mostly organized and co-operative as we helped each other complete the presentation together. We managed our time efficiently as we completed most of our task that had to be completed and we scheduled when our specific tasks had to be done by. We all provided different ideas and aspects for our presentation. There was also different viewpoints from all members, so all the information didn't come from just one member.
- What was difficult about working as a group?
What was difficult about working in a group was that sometimes, one person would be away during our research lessons, which made it difficult to get their information and then we would have less group members to work with. Although we managed our time efficiently, we were on a schedule and some people didn't get to finish their assigned job during the time limit.
- What did you learn about working within a group?
What I have learned about working within a group was that everyone did their assigned job and even helped others who had difficulties with their job. I have also learned that most things are best done by a group rather than an individual, as you get to think more with more than one person's knowledge. You also do different tasks that you do not usually do by yourself, and that being in a group makes you experience different roles and that communication is a successful way about working in a group so you can avoid problems.
- Identify you strengths and weaknesses as a group member.
My strengths as a group member is that I kept on task with our presentation. I also finished the roles had to complete and also helped other group members with their task. Another strength was that I was co-operative with my group members, which made it easier to communicate them. I also provided knowledge about my question and other aspects that made our presentation better.
My weaknesses as a group member was that I lacked some skills/knowledge about some of the questions so I could not help my other group members with their task. Another weakness was that I was not usually organized when it came to my work, as I did not finish most things on time.
- Outline suggestions to improve the effectiveness of your group.
To improve the effectiveness of our group, we should have managed more time for us to meet together to improve our presentation. We should have also been self motivated and determined so that we could be successful in our work and presentation. Instead of working independently and then coming together as a group to make our presentation, we should have all worked on it at the same time so we can all help each other.
